We’re thrilled to announce that Syed Zohaib Hassan has successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation in Civil Enginerring at the University of Central Florida. His research focused on developing automated, data-driven solutions for monitoring the built and natural environment, contributing valuable insights to the field of civil engineering, remote sensing, and artificial intelligence. Mostafa passed his PhD Qualifying Exam in December 2025 and just published our work “Region-based digital image correlation framework to monitor UHPC girders under cyclic loads using transformer-based segmentation” on reputable/top journal Engineering Structures.
Our group has been awarded an FDEP Hinkely Center project with the title:
“An Efficient Landfill Surveying Method for Surface Emissions Monitoring and Cover Integrity Inspection (Year 2): Odor Detection and Distribution Mapping”
