Syed Zohaib Hassan

Zohaib is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering at University of Central Florida. His research is in the field of UAV-based remote sensing for smart city infrastructure. Zohaib received his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from NED University, Karachi, Pakistan in 2018 and his M.Sc. in Construction Automation from Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea in 2021. His hobbies include watching movies and playing cricket.

Mostafa Iraniparast

Mostafa is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering at the University of Central Florida. His research specializes in structural health monitoring and full-field measurement using computer vision. He earned his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Shiraz University in Shiraz, Iran, in 2016, and his M.Sc. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT) in Tehran, Iran, in 2021. In his free time, Mostafa likes to play video games and soccer.

Brian Chunn

Mr. Chunn has designed highway bridge structures over the last 28 years and has experience that includes new bridge design for roadway crossings and bridge rehabilitation design. Mr. Chunn has previous experience in segmental bridge Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) research utilizing techniques such as magnetic flux leakage, inductance testing and active infrared thermography. He was one of the contributors to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) 2017 segmental bridge NDT report “Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of a Segmental Concrete Bridge Scheduled for Demolition, with a Focus on Condition Assessment and Corrosion Detection of Internal Tendons”. He was also a contributor to the published TRB report No. 17-05231 entitled “Magnetic Flux Leakage Method for Detecting Corrosion in Post-Tensioned Segmental Concrete Bridges in the Presence of Secondary Reinforcement”. His long-term goal is to do innovative research in structures health monitoring as part of the Smart Cities program.

Mohammad Vasef (Visiting Scholar)

Mohammad is a visitor scholar in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering at University of Central Florida. His research is in the dynamic of structures and structural health monitoring. He is also interested in conducting shake table tests. Mohammad received his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Urmia University, Iran in 2016 and his M.Sc. in Civil Engineering- Earthquake Engineering from Shahid Beheshti University, Iran in 2018. He is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Tehran and will defend his PhD in 2022 or 2023. Going to the gym is something he enjoys, and he has a genuine liking for handball.

Undergraduate Members

Shreyans Gajjar

Shreyans is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Central Florida, pursuing a BS degree in Civil Engineering. In the RISE Lab, Shreyans assists in 3D modeling/printing, building electrical circuits, and is currently involved in researching DIC methods in structural health monitoring. He plans to graduate sometime around Fall 2025, and continue into his Civil Engineering Master’s at UCF while continuing his work with the RISE Lab. Shreyans has a strong passion for structural engineering, mechanics, and computer vision projects. Hobbies include automotive engineering, motorsports, and art.

Anadi Shukla

Anadi Shukla was born and raised in Southwest Florida and is a third-year undergraduate mechanical engineering student with a passion in automation, robotics, and 3D modeling. 

 

Jinwen Wu

Jinwen is currently majoring in Aerospace Engineering at Seminole State College, she will be transferring to the University of Florida in Spring 2025. She has finished Associate in Arts degree and is working towards a bachelor’s degree. She has a strong interest in Physics and math. Her hobbies include playing piano, drums, and making music.

Vicente Sosa Landivar

Vicente is an Undergraduate Student at the University of Central Florida, pursuing a degree in civil engineering with big interest in water resources, and mechanics. Hobbies include tennis, painting, and board games.
